Vlog: NHC San Francisco November Service Events

Posted on: December 13, 2022San Francisco

National Health Corps members across all program locations are given the opportunity to, in addition to serving with their assigned community organizations, volunteer with other local organizations working on community projects!

At San Francisco, members participate in a required monthly Group Service project, as well as optional volunteering with local partners. In this vlog, Catherine, talks about the projects San Francisco's members worked on in partnership with Mama G's Street Dinner and the African American Faith-Based Coalition to either serve or pack food for community members experiencing food insecurity in the city, especially during the holiday season.

Our Communications Committee, a group of members focusing on social media content development and other forms of communication outside of NHC, documented the events and put together a vlog to show community members the wonderful work that these organizations do, as well as the service opportunities available to prospective members at NHC San Francisco!

We would like to thank both Mama G's Street Dinner and the African American Faith-Based Coalition for the services that they provide to our local community, and for the opportunity they provide to our National Health Corps members to learn more about their community while helping provide these essential services as well!

Where are you from?

I was originally born in Los Angeles, California but raised in Houston, Texas. Because I moved at a very young age, I consider myself a Texan but have always wanted to learn more about California and its diverse culture. Therefore, I’m really excited to move and live in San Francisco for this upcoming service term. I can’t wait for the better weather, food, and adventures that the city holds.
