Outreach Coordinator

Position Summary

Increase and improve volunteer database and communication.
Coordinate with events/resource fairs to bring awareness about food insecurity and our organization's mission as well as partnering with other organizations.
Strengthen online presence to increase attendance at Humbly's events and connection to services and programming.
(FB, IG, and e-newsletter)
Educating community members on benefit of healthy food options.
Assist with community gardening and local food distribution initiatives.
Assist with food co-op/ pilot program.
Data collection and surveys.
Grant research/fundraising

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing outreach to agencies to build awareness
     
  • Creating and developing communications related to outreach campaigns
     
  • Providing outreach to stakeholders to identify issues
     
  • Planning, scheduling, and convening workgroups between organizations
     
  • Utilizing partnerships and data to coordinate referrals
     

Characteristics of an Ideal Candidate

Familiar with health-related issues, Team-oriented, Experience managing projects or processes, Community engagement/outreach skills, Able to communicate effectively with all individuals

Knowledge Required for the Position

Knowledge of AmeriCorps/Health Corps member requirements

Supervision

The supervisor assigns service activities, advises on changes in procedures, and is available for assistance when required, The supervisor assigns service activities in terms of project objectives and basic priorities and is available for consultation in resolving controversial issues.

Review

The member independently plans and carries out the projects and selects the approaches and methods to be used in solving problems, Completed projects are reviewed very generally to determine that objectives have been met and are in compliance with policies and regulations.

Guidelines

Guidelines are generally applicable, but the member independently makes adaptations in dealing with problems and unusual situations

Complexity

The member must develop new techniques, methods, or approaches to complete service position assignments
