Where are you from? (please answer this question using whatever definition you wish - where you were born, where you grew up, where you lived before NHC, the place you consider your home, etc.)
I was born in Yuba City, CA and raised in a rural town called Caruthers, CA. Currently, I live in Fresno, CA and consider Central Valley my home.

Are you a Student? If so, where and what are you studying?

I recently graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in biology and minors in Society & Genetics and Global Health. While I’m not currently enrolled in school (gap year student), I’m continuing to explore my passion for public health and health education through service.

Why did you decide to join NHC?

I joined NHC because I wanted to make a direct impact on community health and address
health disparities, especially in underserved areas like the Central Valley. I was drawn to
NHC’s mission of promoting health equity and its focus on service and education.

What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?

During my service term, I hope to strengthen my skills in health education, community
outreach, and culturally competent care. I also want to deepen my understanding of how
social determinants of health affect different populations and learn how to better support
them through effective health programs.

What are you most looking forward to during your service term?

I’m most looking forward to building relationships with community members and
empowering them with the knowledge and resources to take charge of their health. I’m
also excited to collaborate with passionate team members and grow as a future healthcare
professional.
