Position Summary
The purpose of the members service position is to provide community-based fatherhood parenting/co-parenting classes, and early childhood education workshops to men, fathers, and father figures in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns Counties. Fathers will be referred to the program by local community partners, family courts, child support enforcement agencies, state and federal Healthy Start providers and the child welfare system. The members duty title will be the Fatherhood Community Facilitator, and the facilitator is responsible for:
* Providing group and/or individual education, support and resources for community fathers and father figures in Baker,
Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns Counties.
• Ensuring each parenting workshop series includes 12 sessions, which are 2 hours each totaling 24
hours scheduled.
• Coordinating workshop schedule, location(s) guest presenters, instructional materials and supplies for each class. Must
log attendance at all parenting workshops, and forward sign-in sheets to Fatherhood Program Assistant or Supervisor
• Providing onsite support to outside facilitators that provide financial literacy and employment services
• Coordinating and scheduling make-up classes/workshops for missed classes/workshop
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifying patients who are at-risk to assess eligibility for various services
- Providing follow-up and case management to deliver assistance and information
- Developing and/or facilitating classes with other professionals
- Implementing strategies to recruit clients to attend health and wellness classes
- Participating in meetings and conferences
** Conducting data collection
** Implementing and executing program using established protocols
** Identifying hosts and sponsors in various communities to form new partnerships
** Scheduling and coordinating intervention/class logistics

Knowledge Required for the Position
Knowledge of AmeriCorps/Health Corps member requirements, Skill with Microsoft Office or other software for a variety of data processing operations involving a range of problem solving, record keeping, correspondence, and service tracking options.
Supervision
Member uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments following set procedures, independently, The supervisor assigns service activities, advises on changes in procedures, and is available for assistance when required
Review
The service activities are reviewed for accuracy through spot checks, through complaints from customers, and through observation of the member at service., The member independently plans and carries out the projects and selects the approaches and methods to be used in solving problems, Completed projects are reviewed very generally to determine that objectives have been met and are in compliance with policies and regulations.
Guidelines
Most instructions are easily memorized and require little interpretation, Guidelines are generally applicable, but the member independently makes adaptations in dealing with problems and unusual situations, Member must use considerable judgment in adapting current or developing new guidance
Complexity
Member has to develop, analyze, or evaluate information before the service position can progress, The facts or conditions of the service position are clear cut, predictable, and apply directly to the assignment, In making decisions, the member is often required to depart from past approaches and to extend traditional techniques, The member must develop new techniques, methods, or approaches to complete service position assignments
Special Considerations
Unusual service hours, involving evenings, weekends, or long shifts, Personal vehicle required, Significant travel (more than 25%), Special safety regulations or precautions that must be observed, Position offers flexible hours/service formats for members who may need them due to childcare commitments, probation/parole requirements, or other obligations.
