Where are you from?

I was born and raised in the East Bay. I grew up in Castro Valley, CA, and lived previously in Santa Barbara, CA for college!

Why did you decide to join NHC?

I decided to join NHC because of my passion for addressing health disparities and my interest in community health. The program’s focus on direct service and hands-on experience aligns with my desire to impact underserved communities in the heart of the Bay Area. Through NHC, I can contribute to initiatives that promote access to healthcare while gaining valuable skills that will support my long-term goal of pursuing a Master of Public Health.

What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?

During my service term, I hope to develop a deeper understanding of public health interventions, particularly in the areas of chronic disease management and addiction services. I am also looking to build practical skills in patient care coordination, data analysis, and community outreach that will enhance my ability to work effectively in healthcare settings. Additionally, I hope to learn from the diverse perspectives of the communities I serve and the professionals I collaborate with.

What are you most looking forward to during your service term?

I’m excited to see the tangible outcomes of my work in improving health outcomes for individuals. I can’t wait to be part of a collaborative environment where I can grow both personally and professionally, learning from my peers and mentors throughout the service year!
