All About Stephanie!

Posted on: July 25, 2017Chicago

My name is Stephanie, a Californian who is trying to understand the concept of winter. I love traveling (next travel destination: Costa Rica), baking, reading (if you like fantasy, highly recommend An Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir), Netflix binge watching, and experiencing new things! I went to University of California, Berkeley (Go Bears!), and majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology with an emphasis in neurobiology. I have developed an interest in public health through various classes and working with nonprofits, such as Hep B Project and Asian Liver Center at Stanford University. After college, I had the opportunity to work for the World Health Organization in Manila, Philippines. I recently completed a Masters in Biomedical Science at Tufts University.

As a Benefits Outreach Coordinator, I am excited to work directly and closely with the students and families of Chicago Public Schools. I look forward to learning their stories and experiences, and hopefully I will be able to help them in getting access to the public benefit programs they need. I am also excited to live in Chicago. I enjoy exploring new cities, and learning about the culture and the people in the city! Not only do I wish to gain valuable insights in working with the diverse communities in Chicago, but I also wish to gain new adventures and new friends in the city!
