Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Phoenix and then studied at Arizona State University for my undergraduate degree.

Why did you decide to join NHC?

I have always been interested in public service/health and I feel like the NHC would be a fantastic experience for me. Since I am taking a couple gap years before medical school, I thought this would be a great experience to broaden my perspective and grow as an individual.

What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?

I want to learn more about the lived experiences of people with different backgrounds than me. I feel like working with the Curry Senior Center would be a good opportunity for me to build relationships with a very different subset of people that I normally don’t interact with.

What are you most looking forward to during your service term?

I look forward to meeting my cohort and building a community in San Francisco!
