Where are you from?
Sacramento is the place I've called home for most of my life. My narrative about SacTown is written within its beautiful communities, underrated food scene, and views that often go unnoticed. Stingers up!
Why did you decide to join NHC?
With having little interaction in healthcare NHC offers a foot in the door with many opportunities to serve the community. I feel it’s the right way to step into healthcare — with a team that can enable and support me every step as I find my place in the industry.
What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?
Seeing San Francisco firsthand through the experiences of healthcare workers, clinicians, and the surrounding communities. Each with their own story, pace, and purpose. The goals I’m setting out for myself are to gain experience that sticks, watch how things move, and figure out what kind of difference I want to make.
What are you most looking forward to during your service term?
Meeting peers and hearing their stories is what I look forward to most. Everyone has a different background but was brought together through a common service. I also look forward to seeing who I become by the end of the service term. The tools I end up using or learning, the experience I take with me, and enacting change whether a person notices it or not.
