Why did you decide to join NHC?
I wanted to find a position where I could apply me knowledge during my gap years before medical school. I felt that the mission of the National Health Corps would not only allow me to do that but also help me continue learning and growing in the field
What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?
During my service term, I hope to gain hands-on experience in community health, particularly in stroke prevention and health education. I want to deepen my understanding of the social determinants of health and how public health initiatives can make a tangible impact on the neighborhoods I work with. Additionally, I aim to develop stronger communication and patient education skills that will help me bond better with the community and my future medical career.
What are you most looking forward to during your service team?
I am looking forward to making a meaningful impact in the community by assisting with programs that promote stroke prevention and nutrition.
